DOLLAR SPOT IMPACT

Dollar spot can cause significant damage to golf courses, athletic fields, and residential lawns by infecting the leaves and stems of turfgrass. Once the fungus infects the grass, it penetrates the plant’s tissues and begins to grow.

Factors contributing to Dollar Spot outbreaks include climate (warm and humid conditions), soil fertility (lack of nutrients or low pH), water stress (underwatering or overwatering), and improper mowing practices (mowing too short).

Methods of Prevention and Control

There are several preventative measures and management strategies that can help control and prevent dollar spot. Several studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of inoculants that contain beneficial microorganisms in reducing the severity of dollar spot. They have been found to be a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to disease management.

GOLF SUPERINTENDENT
TESTIMONIALS

"Grass was lush, green, not a blemish ... The whole area looks great, especially after the 3-week drought and high temperatures for May and early June. There is no Dollar Spot activity which is great because usually, by the Middle of June, there is a flair-up... weeds and pathogens were choked out by just your product [En-Turf] - we have sprayed no fungicides, synthetic fertilizers or anything else"

- Dan Albright, Superintended of The Oaks Golf & Country Club's Private Golf Course

HOW ARE
WE DIFFERENT?

En-Turf stands out as the unrivalled choice for turfgrass health,
delivering superior and consistent results that outshine any other
product in the market. This unmatched performance can be
attributed to two compelling reasons:

Precision-Engineered Microbial Technology:

Advances in bioengineering have empowered our scientists to design and enhance microbial strains with targeted traits. This cutting-edge capability has facilitated the optimization of microorganisms boasting impactful abilities, including heightened turfgrass productivity, fortified resilience to abiotic stress conditions, and the capacity to effectively combat pathogen stress.

En-Turf is an Integrated Solution:

It is a proprietary formulation designed for turfgrass, combining En-Guard and En-Fix microbial biostimulants. En-Guard combines active beneficial biostimulants that play a crucial role in enhancing plant health and resilience. By fortifying and strengthening the root and stem of the plant’s immune system, it equips turfgrass to better withstand external stressors and pathogens, ensuring their continuous growth and prosperity.

En-Fix reduces nitrogen fertilizer dependence and boosts nutrient absorption, while En-Guard enhances plant health and resilience. Together, they promote vigorous growth, increased yield, and stress tolerance, making En-Turf a powerful ally for sustainable turfgrass success.

WHY EN-TURF IS
IMPORTANT

The Climate Crisis:

One of the leading causes of extreme heat or drought conditions is the tremendous stress they put on turfgrass, leading to discoloration, thinning, and even death of the grass. As a result, this can lead to uneven playing surfaces and deteriorating aesthetics.

Greenhouse Gases:

Fertilizers produce greenhouse gases as plants only take up, on average, about half of the nitrogen they get from fertilizers. Much of the applied fertilizer runs off into waterways or gets in the soil, releasing the potent greenhouse gas nitrous oxide into the atmosphere. Pound for pound, nitrous oxide warms the planet 300 times as much as carbon dioxide.

Fertilizer Prices:

Fertilizer prices remain at all-time highs as a result of the war in Ukraine, including higher natural gas prices, have further disrupted global fertilizer production and exports – reducing supplies, and raising prices.

En-Turf is a powerful solution to these problems which acts as a biofertilizer. En-Turf has achieved ECOCERT certification and is an approved organic input for agriculture. It also provides resilience against harsh environmental stress and promotes plant health.

MITIGATE DROUGHT & SALINITY
STRESS IN TURFGRASS

Turfgrass maintenance faces significant challenges, including drought and salinity stress, which can jeopardize the aesthetics and playability of green spaces.

Microbials, such as certain types of bacteria and fungi, have shown promising results in enhancing the resilience of turfgrass to drought and salinity stress.

BIOSTIMULANTS GAINING ATTENTION IN CONGRESS

Golf courses require a great deal of maintenance to keep them looking pristine. This maintenance relies on a combination of factors, and the advancements in the field of biostimulants for turf management is now one of them.
This has recently gained attention with the reintroduction of the Plant Biostimulant Act by U.S. representatives on March 15, 2023.

Rhett Evans, CEO of the Golf Courses Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) has this to say, “Plant biostimulants help golf course superintendents provide healthy greenspaces that benefit everyone. This legislation will help ensure golf’s access to this valuable product.
